New Mayor John Ewing claims he hasn't had enough time to revise the budget, therefore, basically he is endorsing former Mayor Jean Stothert's proposal.


Item 6: Gives $50,000 to Heartland Hope Mission, while Item 66 wants to criminalize the homeless.


Item 11 gives $45,000 to the 9 Omaha BID’s (Business Improvement District) in order to fund the establishment of a pilot program to fund on-call maintenance services for Omaha’s citywide nine BID’s.


Item 14: Combines Phase 1 and Phase 11 for the North Omaha 24th St BID Streetscapes Improvement for a total of approximately $13,800,000 million. The money has been in the Omaha coffers since 2022.


item 15: Request the removal of the wording, “equity, diversity, inclusion” in any and all parts” found in the 2026 budget.


Item 52: Due to a small “clerical error” the council is willing to give a contract to RTG for janitorial services for the Omaha Public Libraries which will cost the Omaha taxpayers more than $200,000.00 over the lowest bidder.


Item 60: The first reading under the semblance of “preventing harm to public property” wants to criminalize homelessness.
